Our Most Common Questions
FAQs
-
Do I need to schedule a tour? Or can I stop by?
Yes, tours are by appointment only. You can schedule by clicking any of the “Book a Tour” buttons on the website. Where the venue is built is also our home and we appreciate you respecting our privacy there. We are flexible and try our best to accommodate what time works best for you to tour.
-
How many guests can I have?
We can accommodate up to 350 guests. But even weddings with 150 guests are comfortable and do not feel empty. Most of our events host between 150-225 guests.
-
What if my guest list is less than 300?
While we built the venue with large crowds in mind, we can certainly host smaller weddings, too. For example, winter weddings where the ceremony and reception are held inside will have more space for their guests to dine and dance without having to tear down or set up tables/chairs.
-
Can the wedding party get ready on-site?
Absolutely! The bridal and groom suites were built knowing they would spend a lot of time the day of the wedding at the venue. They are spacious with lots of room for relaxing and getting ready. Each has a full bathroom, too.
-
Where is the closest lodging?
Fayetteville offers the closest hotels about 30 minutes away. There are a number of Airbnbs in Elkins that we encourage wedding guests and families to look into. We also have a cottage on-site that we can rent out for the couple, their family or vendors. The cottage sleeps 4 people (2 beds).
-
Are there indoor and outdoor ceremony options?
Yes! There are many different options for outdoor ceremonies that are easy walking distance from the building and offer different views. Or take the party inside if the weather calls for a backup plan.
-
Where is Plentywoods Venue located?
On a working cattle ranch, the venue is located about 8 miles outside of Elkins, Arkansas, right off of Hwy 16. It’s about a 30-minute drive from Fayetteville. It sits on a big hill and overlooks rolling woods, cattle pastures and a valley of views all the way to town.
-
The driveway is steep. Will my guests have trouble getting to the venue?
Since opening, we poured concrete to make it easy to drive up the hill. We have never had any issues with any guests getting to the venue. From trucks and trailers to corvettes and motorcycles, we’ve seen it all on top of the hill. And they made it safely, too!
-
I remember seeing additional services in the contract. How do I add a package as my wedding gets closer?
We offer more than a raw space to get married, although that is the most common way our venue is used. If you’re looking for a team of people who are ready to work on wedding day, our clients should email us and we update your packages. Options include: Setup/Tear Down, Event Management, Photo Booth, The Cottage, and multiple-day reservations. We also offer real white plates and gold flatware to elevate your reception experience.
-
How do I reserve Brays, Neighs and Brews?
Brays, Neighs and Brews is a mini donkey and pony drink service. It’s the perfect way to add a special and memorable touch to your wedding reception. While the brew crew is exclusive to Plentywoods, please reach out to Kara directly to inquire.
-
Can I host a non-wedding event at Plentywoods?
Of course! We love hosting showers and birthday parties. During the week, we also have the capacity to host workshops and retreats for NWA businesses. Ask us about our weekday (Monday-Thursday) and hourly pricing options.
-
Can my guests Uber?
Uber will drop you off, but they will not pick you up. We suggest encouraging guests to have a designated driver or coordinate a scheduled shuttle service. Our booked clients should see a shuttle service option in our Recommended Vendors list.
-
What does the booking and payment plan look like?
When you decide this is the place, let us know in writing (text or email). Then we will send a rental agreement and invoice. The agreement and booking fee are due 2 weeks from when we send those documents. Typically, we split the remaining balance, with half due 6 months before and the remainder due 2 months before your event.
-
I want an outdoor ceremony. What happens if it rains or snows?
Our large reception hall is not only beautiful, but can accommodate indoor ceremonies and receptions. If you have an indoor ceremony - planned or unplanned - we recommend having reception tables decorated but pushed to the outer edges of the reception hall. If you hire our team for set up/tear down, then we can flip the room in less than 20 minutes to go from your ceremony to your reception. We always hope the weather allows guests to enjoy cocktail hour on the patio during the room flip, but if not, then we ask everyone to squeeze in the back of the room so the tables and chairs can quickly be reset. This kind of plan B doesn’t stress us at all!
-
What are the alcohol rules?
The skinny is we do allow alcohol. But you must hire an insured bartender to serve all alcohol from the time your ceremony starts until the reception concludes. We do not allow shots, last calls or glass serving vessels (unless rented and approved by our team).
-
Are open flame candles allowed?
We love the look of candles! But we require that real flame is set in a vase or hurricane. We have many 3-inch glass vases that are great for floating candles in the decor closet. But if you’re using tapered candles, they must be in a hurricane or flameless. We do have flameless pillar and taper candles available in the decor closet.
-
Can my guests hold sparklers for our exit?
Yes! As long as Madison County is not under a burn ban.
-
Can I have rehearsal at Plentywoods the night before my wedding?
It depends. Once you are 3 months out from your event, you can add a second day or add hours to hold your rehearsal at the venue, if no other events are booked. Clients should email or text us to check availability and add this on to their package.
